The Music Ministry facilitates a sense of prayerful participation amongst parishioners at Sunday, Holy Day and special liturgies.

“Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our Salvation.” —Psalm 95:1

Music is an important part of worship and praise to God. At St. Julian, we have two opportunities to lead song in worship:

Songleaders/Cantors. Prepare and lead music for Sunday and select Holy Day or special liturgies. Cantors and accompanists work in teams and are paid positions, considered non-exempt staff. Wages are paid in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Archdiocese of Chicago Office of Divine Worship.

Adult Choir. Prepares and leads music for select Holy Day or special liturgies such as Christmas, Easter and Nine Lessons & Carols. The Adult Choir is a volunteer group made up entirely of parishioners. Rehearsals are generally held on Thursday evenings. Rehearsal for Nine Lessons and Christmas Midnight Mass begins in August; and rehearsal for the Easter Vigil Mass begins in January/February.
